Forest Park Engagement Session

Forest Park Engagement Session / Portland, Oregon

There’s something especially magic about the forest just before sunrise. The clouds are still hanging low, weaving in and out of the trees. The sun rays peek through slowly as the forest hangs between darkness and light. I absolutely love Forest Park in the early morning hours, and it was the perfect location for Sophia and Tomas’ engagement session. They knew they wanted to be with the trees for photos, and after lots of location scouting (the perfect excuse to spend lots of time in the trees!), I found a spot that provided solitude, mist, and, of course, the tall tall trees.

We walked among ferns and vines. We encountered a few very friendly trail runners. We met while it was still dark outside, and by the time we were done, the sun had started to burn off those low laying clouds. To capture the true essence of the ethereal forest, you have to go at a very specific time of day.
